President Cost made the decision to move into the role of Chancellor after more than 14 years of leadership. He believes now is the right time to shift his focus to external engagement, where he can best use his talents and relationships to strengthen Jacksonville University鈥檚 future.

What will President Cost鈥檚 role as Chancellor involve?

As Chancellor, President Cost will dedicate his time to building and deepening JU鈥檚 relationships with alumni, donors, corporate and civic leaders, and community partners. His focus will be on creating new opportunities for JU students and advancing the institution鈥檚 strategic priorities through external engagement and philanthropy.

Who will lead the University after President Cost transitions to Chancellor?

The University plans to conduct the customary search for Cost鈥檚 successor under the direction of JU鈥檚 Board of Trustees. Details about the succession plan and presidential search will be forthcoming.

How long will the Interim President serve?

The Interim President will serve until the Board determines the next steps for long-term leadership. The Board is committed to ensuring stability and continuity throughout this period.

Will this affect day-to-day operations at JU?
